Published on December 11, 2017 after version 1.1.7, the fourth and final official Smash 4 tier list puts Bayonetta, Cloud and Diddy Kong in S. Marth, Lucina and Mewtwo made the largest climbs over the game's life; the three Mii Fighters were left unranked. Characters separated by less than 0.1 points share a placement.

The first Smash 4 Back Room tier list was published on February 1, 2016, on version 1.1.3, before Bayonetta and Corrin joined the roster. Sheik, Zero Suit Samus and Rosalina & Luma were in S; the Mii Fighters and Palutena were judged with their default movesets. Version 1.1.4 arrived two days later.
